It subsequently owned by Ritka of Bezdedice and the Klinstejns. In the first half of the 16th Century, it was owned by the Berkovsky knights and later by the Kaplirs. However, after it again changed owners, it started to deteriorate since the 17th Century. There are many legends about robber knights connected with the stronghold. In the 19th Century, it was often depicted by painters as a romantic ruins. The stronghold inspired Karel Hynek Macha to write his work 'Gypsies'. Between 1911 and 1918, it was romantically modified and re-Gothicized by Jan Spacek of Starburg, the last private owner of Kokorin. The building has an elongated ground plan and a 38m-tall tower with a stone helmet. On a staircase leading to the tower, we can find painted emblems of noblemen. In the palace, there are exhibited historical weapons, ceramics and period furniture. There is a sightseeing gallery running along the walls. There are many legends connected to a partially buried well.

Butter became a special item of the Vologda export late in the 19th century. I did my best to let every geographic region be represented, which means that some smaller airports ended up being included. I tried to avoid airports with no regular commercial flights as much as possible, though I am sure some were included especially in the less developed countries.
Information was garnered from a wide variety of sources, including the foreign airports feature on Google Earth, as well as Google searches for various airports and a plethora of sites for individual airports and airports in specific regions.

* There is one airport that starts in Canada and ends up in the United States. It is the Piney Pinecreek Border Airport. Look in the folder for Canada.

Made famous for his stand at the First Battle of Manassas on July 21st, 1861 and by his subsequent brilliance during the 1862 Valley Campaign, the monument shows Jackson on his horse facing north. This monument was dedicated on October 11th, 1919. Not only placemarks. Particular points of interest are the capital city of P'yongyang and the border to South Korea. Besides this the country is plastered with anti-aircraft sites. Sometimes it is quiet evident what they protect and sometimes they look unfinished or abandoned/dismantled. And I am sure I did not find all and have mistakingly identified a site where it might be something else. At P'yongyang you can see yourself that this propably the best protected city in the world, at least against air raids. Besides the many many anti-aircraft sites I placed a lot of site-seeing placemarks in P'yongyang. You may find that some interesting looking places have been left out. This is the case because either the place looks interesting but is of minor importance (restuarants and most indoor stadiums just for example) or I could not identify it (The shiny silver dome in down-town P'yongyang for example). I gave my very best to identify the important spots but I did not succed on everything. I took my reference data (maps, commented photographs) from a lot of sites on the internet and cross-verified many of them. If you think you provided some of this information yourself, let me thank you. At the border I placed some current and historical placemarks. Searching the web for these in combination with the Korean War will for sure bring up some quiet interesting links into the history of this area.  From- Treefest Candidate Heritage Trees Location only approximate. This ancient sweet chestnut (Castanea sativa) stands in a private garden near the Borders town of Melrose. It is known as the Covin Tree or Trysting Tree, where in days past the family of the house used to greet friends and, in some cases, hang their enemies! The huge, gnarled trunk is of considerable girth, measuring 252cm in diameter (26ft girth) at the standard 1.5m above ground. The original tree is largely dead, but vigorous and well established shoots arising from around the base keep the tree very much alive. A fine, old, named veteran tree with an interesting historical association. Sometimes it is quiet evident what they protect and sometimes they look unfinished or abandoned/dismantled. And I am sure I did not find all and have mistakingly identified a site where it might be something else. At P'yongyang you can see yourself that this propably the best protected city in the world, at least against air raids. Besides the many many anti-aircraft sites I placed a lot of site-seeing placemarks in P'yongyang. You may find that some interesting looking places have been left out. This is the case because either the place looks interesting but is of minor importance (restuarants and most indoor stadiums just for example) or I could not identify it (The shiny silver dome in down-town P'yongyang for example). I gave my very best to identify the important spots but I did not succed on everything. I took my reference data (maps, commented photographs) from a lot of sites on the internet and cross-verified many of them. If you think you provided some of this information yourself, let me thank you. At the border I placed some current and historical placemarks. Searching the web for these in combination with the Korean War will for sure bring up some quiet interesting links into the history of this area. Finaly there's folder 'Other stuff' which contains more or less interesting observations. Mixed bag of military, fun and strange stuff all over the place. I managed to created overlays with another two of that fas sat pictures coded Site 01 and Site 04 (if you download them). They are almost for sure old pics of Galosh Sites. Neither of them fits to your most interesting research which helped me a lot, because I'm seeking for that stuff a long time already. So now we got seven (to rule out that sat control station in the southeastern sector). I'm confused as everybody about that. According to Mr. Pavel Podvig and his fine work we know that in two of them are Gorgons. He mentioned for example Sergiyev Posad-15; but there are two places in the near; one at 5624'12.91'N, 3811'12.40'E and one at 5614'32.82'N, 3835'7.71'E. So which one is that with Gorgons? All what we obviously know is that we now have identified three of that fas sat pics which are most propably deactivated Galosh Sites; and for sure we have at least four more, of which no one matches with the two other pics from fas. What so ever - I put all that long range stuff together in my placemarks. Maybe we could update our stuff with that and you experts will find out more. I'll keep monitoring this with joy. By the way: Does anybody already find a single S-300V Battery somewhere. I get mad with that search. These Monsters should be a lot easer to find than S-300P. Tambm serviram de fonte, mapas e folders informativos de turismo, listas telefnicas, enciclopdias e o livro Trilhas do Recife, de Joo Braga, alm de informaes espalhadas por diversos locais da cidade e conversas com transeuntes. Quando me dei conta que o Recife passou a fazer parte das cidades com imagens detalhadas no Google Earth em 8 de junho de 2006 , comecei esta to esperada empreitada. Quando me dei conta que o Recife passou a fazer parte das cidades com imagens detalhadas no Google Earth em 8 de junho de 2006 , comecei esta to esperada empreitada. Amante que sou da Veneza Brasileira, aguardava com muita ansiedade a hora de ver minha cidade 'mais de perto', nesse programa espetacular, para poder iniciar este projeto por amor ao Recife e compartilh-lo com todos os usurios da internet. At 5400km, it is the worlds's longest unbroken fence and is two and a half times the length of the Great Wall of China! The fence was built in the early 1900's to keep wild dogs (dingos and cross-breed packs) out of South-Eastern Australia. As a general rule, sheep are on the eastern side and cattle, which are less vulnerable to dog attack, are in the west. While there are still some dingos and wild dogs on the eastern side, they are more easily controlled and the majority remain in the west. The fence has maintenance tracks running on either side of it, and there are gates where it crosses major roads. Permission must be sought to travel on these maintenance tracks, and a 4WD with plenty of water and fuel is essential. Fence maintainance is the responsibility of the many local councils that it passes through. The fence is currently being electrified in stages. While there is no doubt the fence protects millions of dollars worth of sheep, it has very much changed the ecology of central Australia and thousands of native animals die along the fence as they seek water and pasture during times of drought. While kangaroos can jump it, emus and other animals are not so lucky. I have tried my best to mark the track using overlays of government maps. However the fence has never been officially surveyed and there are areas where the true fence path is in doubt and I have had to give it my best guess. There are several areas through central South Australia where low resolution has made it tricky to identify. Any corrections are welcome.
